At SheetAI, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information and spreadsheet data.

Information We Collect

  • Account Information: Email address, name, and third-party account ID (if using social sign-in)
  • Spreadsheet Data: All content including formulas, cell data, charts, images, and files you upload or create
  • AI Chat History: Your conversations with our AI assistant, stored alongside your spreadsheets
  • Add-on Data: When you use the Google Sheets add-on or the Excel add-in, the cells and formatting of the spreadsheet you are working in are sent with each message so the assistant can answer. The spreadsheet itself stays in Google Sheets or Excel; we do not keep a copy of it, and the add-on's chat history is stored on your device, not in our database
  • Usage Data: How you interact with our platform, AI message counts, features used, and performance metrics
  • Payment Information: Subscription status and billing details processed through our payment provider
  • Device Information: IP address, browser type, user agent, device type, and operating system
  • Contact Form Submissions: Name, email, message content, IP address, and user agent when you contact us

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain our spreadsheet AI services
  • To process your spreadsheet formulas and data using third-party AI providers
  • To communicate with you about your account and service updates
  • To send you newsletters and marketing emails (you can opt out anytime)
  • To analyze usage patterns and improve our platform

Third-Party Services

  • AI Processing: When you use AI features, your spreadsheet content and chat messages are processed by third-party AI providers to generate AI responses. Data is shared solely to provide this service; providers may retain it briefly for abuse and safety monitoring under their API policies, and it is never used to train their models. We do not transfer, sell, or share user data with third parties for advertising, data brokering, or any purpose unrelated to providing SheetAI's functionality.
  • Payment Processing: We use a third-party payment processor to handle payments. They receive your email, name, and account identifier to manage subscriptions and billing.
  • Email Delivery: We use a third-party email service to send OTP codes and communications to you.
  • Analytics: We use analytics services to understand how users interact with our platform. This involves cookies that track page views and user interactions.
  • Voice Features: If you use voice input, audio is processed by a third-party service for transcription.
  • Social Sign-In: If you use third-party sign-in (such as Google), the provider receives authentication data as part of the sign-in process.
  • Google Sheets Add-on: The add-on uses Google APIs to read the spreadsheet it is open in and to identify you by your Google account (name and email address). SheetAI's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
  • Excel Add-in: The add-in runs inside Excel and communicates only with sheetai.co. You sign in on sheetai.co in your browser; the add-in itself does not read your Microsoft account.

Cookies and Tracking

  • We use analytics cookies to understand site usage and improve our services
  • Essential cookies are used to maintain your login session
  • You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect functionality

Data Security

  • All data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS/SSL
  • Data is stored on access-controlled servers in Europe with key-only SSH and a firewall limited to web traffic
  • Strict access controls and authentication for our team members
  • Sessions expire after 3 days of inactivity, or when you sign out
  • The Google Sheets add-on and the Excel add-in use a separate sign-in token that expires after 7 days and cannot be used to open your web account

Data Retention

  • Active account data is retained as long as your account is active
  • Session data (IP address, user agent) is retained for the duration of your session
  • Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes and can be used only once
  • When you delete your account, your spreadsheets, chats, and associated data are permanently deleted
  • Add-on chat history lives in the add-on's storage on your device; we keep only the credit charge for each reply, and the reply text if you rate it with thumbs up or down

Administrative Access

  • Our administrators may access your account data to provide support or investigate issues
  • In rare cases, support staff may view your account to troubleshoot problems you report

Your Rights

  • Access: Request a copy of all data we have about you
  • Correction: Request corrections to inaccurate information
  • Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data from Settings
  • Export: Download your spreadsheets in standard formats
  • Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
