Excel add-in
Use SheetAI inside Microsoft Excel
Open the SheetAI assistant in a task pane beside your workbook in Excel on the web, Windows or Mac.
Install
Add SheetAI to Excel
SheetAI isn't in Microsoft's add-in store yet. You add it with a small file from sheetai.co, or your Microsoft 365 admin deploys it for your whole organization. The Excel add-in page has the file and step-by-step instructions for Excel on the web, Windows and Mac.
Excel on the web is the quickest: Add-ins → More Add-ins → Manage My Add-ins → Upload My Add-in, then choose the file.
Connect your SheetAI account once
- Open SheetAI from the Home tab or the Add-ins panel. The pane opens on the right.
- Click Sign in. Your browser opens sheetai.co; sign in if asked.
- Click Connect, then go back to Excel. The pane signs in by itself within a few seconds.
Only click Connect after starting the sign-in yourself from Excel. Sign-in lasts 7 days, and the pane uses the same credits as your SheetAI account.
A first task
Start with a small, clear request
- Ask what a table contains before changing it (Ask mode never writes).
- Explain a formula that is already in the workbook.
- Add a calculated column after confirming the rule.
- Clean blanks or duplicates in a focused range, in Manual mode so each edit waits for your OK.
The pane has the same Ask, Act and Plan modes as the web app. In Manual mode each edit lands in the workbook and waits for you to keep or undo it.
If something is off
Common fixes
If the pane stays on "waiting", make sure you clicked Connect in the browser tab, or click Open again in the pane. If the pane is blank, close it and open SheetAI again. The install page lists more fixes, or contact support.
